These hairs are dark and thick and grow in parts of the body that usually only grow in men, including: above the lip (men’s pubic area), chin, chest, back and upper part of the lower body.<\/h6>
Hirsutism (excess hair) is very common. It is very unpleasant and uncomfortable for women.<\/h6>
Hirsutism is seen in 1 to 10 percent of women who have not yet entered menopause.<\/h6>
How is hirsutism caused?<\/h6>
Many women have hairy bodies due to family history and genetics. They may be bothered by this issue, but this is not a sign of a hormonal problem<\/h6>

Polycystic ovary syndrome (ovaries full of cysts) is the most common condition that leads to increased androgens in women. This causes irregular periods, weight gain, acne and other symptoms.<\/h6>
There are other rare but important cases of hirsutism, which include ovarian or adrenal tumors.<\/h6>
