Fertility drugs increase the estrogen hormone in the body. Whether this increases the probability of uterine cancer, breast cancer depends on heredity in the first stage, and in the second stage, it depends on the number of periods that the woman enters the ovulation cycle.

Research so far has shown that the use of fertility drugs such as Clomid and gonadotropins generally does not significantly increase the risk of developing cancer. However, some studies have shown that there may be a slight association with an increased risk of certain cancers, such as ovarian cancer, when taken long-term or at high doses. Other factors such as family history, genetics, and age also play an important role in the risk of developing cancer. Consultation with a specialist doctor is highly recommended.

Possible Types of Cancer:

  1. Ovarian Cancer: Older studies suggested prolonged use of ovulation-stimulating drugs may slightly increase the risk of ovarian cancer, especially in women who didn’t achieve pregnancy.

  2. Breast Cancer: Most studies have not shown a link between fertility drugs and an increased risk of breast cancer. However, some smaller studies suggest this risk may be higher in women with a strong family history of the disease, though evidence is still inconclusive.

  3. Endometrial Cancer: There is no clear evidence linking fertility drugs to a higher risk of endometrial cancer.

Factors Influencing Cancer Risk:

  • Family History: Women with a strong family history of cancer might need additional precautions.
  • Age: Using fertility drugs at older ages may carry specific risks.
  • Duration of Use: Longer treatment periods might carry a higher risk.
